IOSH Managing Safely Refresher (1 day course)

Our 1 day IOSH Managing Safely Refresher is for delegates who have already completed the full IOSH Managing Safely course. Delegates get to refresh their knowledge on the key parts of the full Managing Safely course by relating them to a plan-do-check-act safety and health management system, with leadership at the heart of it all.

Duration

This is a 1 day course (7 hours)

Who is the course for?

Anyone in a management or supervisory role and who have already completed the full IOSH Managing Safely course.

Our IOSH Managing Safely Refresher covers:

Thinking back – Delegates reflect on what they took away from the full Managing Safelycourse. They will also revisit the key reasons for managing safely and recap some of the key terms in an engaging and participative way.

Leadership – Why leadership is important, and how to create a positive safety culture.

Plan – Looks at a safety and health policy and what it includes. Delegates also consider how to deliver the policy.

Do – Delegates undertake a risk assessment exercise and then think about the best ways to communicate their findings and the safety and health plan to the workforce.

Check – Takes a look at data types, what can be measured and how this helps in seeing if ‘the plan’ is implemented and working.

Act – Looks at why reviewing performance, acting on lessons learned and striving to improve continually is essential. Delegates then reflect on what they have learned and how they will use this in their workplace.

COVID-19 Update

We are pleased to announce we reopened GEM Safety on Monday 1st June 2020 following our temporary closure due to the government restrictions that had been put in place. Our CSCS test centre is now available for bookings and our public training courses are starting from Wednesday 10th June 2020 onwards, all taking place at our COVID secure Halifax centre.

We want to reassure all delegates of our public courses, before attending, that we are taking extra steps to ensure the protection of yourself and others to maintain high standards concerning hygiene through this time. The health and well-being of our delegates and dedicated team will be a priority, which is why our upcoming public courses will be run in a COVID-19 secure venue with hand sanitisation stations, reduced attendee numbers and social distancing measures in place. We want to reassure all delegates before attending, that we are taking extra steps to ensure the protection of attendees on our courses to maintain high standards concerning hygiene through this time. We have always maintained the highest standards of cleanliness with all our training equipment and venues, but in addition to our usual hygiene processes, we are now limiting CSCS tests to 4 delegates per 1 hour slot. This is to ensure social distance between each delegate completing the tests. All computer equipment is disinfected after use and hand sanitisers are readily available at GEM Safety Ltd. We also recommend that attendees follow the Public Health England guidance when attending our courses which is included in our events listings. We look forward to seeing you on our upcoming Safety courses and CSCS tests!
